Harvest 2023-2024: find out what are the decisive factors for planting corn in Santa Catarina
In the last three years, the area cultivated with grain corn has stabilized at around 320 thousand hectares
Regular diesel and S-10 diesel saw significant increases in average prices in September. The increases were 9,9% and 9,2%, respectively, in relation to the month of August. In the historical comparison – since January 2017, the average price of diesel (S-10 and regular) reached its highest level since January 2023 in September 2023.
The data comes from the Veloe Panorama of Mobility Indicators, which points out that, despite the increase, the fuel still records a drop in the year to date: -4,6% (common diesel) and -4,2% (S-10 diesel) . In the last twelve months (that is, compared to data from September 2022), average prices fell by 10,1% and 9,6% respectively.
The September results, compared to August, revealed smaller increases for regular gasoline (+2,1%) and with additives (+2,1%), in addition to a slight increase in the average price of ethanol (+0,5%). Among the six fuels, regular/additive gasoline is the one that saw the biggest increase in the year: compared to the end of 2022, regular gasoline is 16,9% more expensive in September/2023. In the case of the added variant, the accumulated advance is similar (+16,2%).
As a result, the average price of gasoline (whether regular or with additives) reached its highest level since July 2023 in September 2022.
Regionally, the highest prices per liter of regular gasoline were found in Acre (R$ 6,753) and in its capital, Rio Branco (R$ 6,637), in contrast to the lowest values found in the state of São Paulo (R$ 5,735) , as well as in the capitals: Campo Grande (R$ 5,641) and São Luís (R$ 5,654). In terms of monthly variation, the biggest increases were observed in posts based in the Southeast (+2,5%) and Central-West and North (+2,4%) regions of the country.
Due to the increase in gasoline prices during the year, ethanol became a more advantageous option for fueling flex-fuel vehicles. Year-to-date, the price of fuel has fallen by 4,3%, compared to a 15,9% increase in the average price of regular gasoline.
The Flex Cost-Benefit Indicator points out that the average price of ethanol corresponded to 68,4% of the average price of gasoline, a level below the 70% mark. This is the lowest level of this indicator since October 2018, when it reached 67,9%.
On average across capital cities, this preference for ethanol is even more evident (67,8%), especially in locations in the Southeast, such as São Paulo, with 62,1%, and in the Central-West, such as Mato Grosso, with 59,2%. %.
