The average price of a liter of common diesel closed August at R$5,48, an increase of 8,51% compared to the first ten days of the same month, the date prior to the 25,8% adjustment in the value transferred to refineries, valid since the last day 16. The data comes from the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing a precise average.
S-10 diesel was sold at R$5,63 at the country's fuel pumps, an increase of 8,90% compared to the first ten days of August. “Compared to July, the increase reaches 9% for regular diesel and 10% for the S-10 type”, highlights Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil.
All Brazilian regions registered an increase for both types of diesel, with emphasis on the Central-West, where the increase reached 9,15% for common and 9,30% for S-10, compared to the first ten days of August. With an average of R$6,01 for the common and R$5,98 for the S-10, the North recorded the highest averages in the country for both types. The South Region led the ranking of the lowest averages, with the common at R$5,30 and the S-10 at R$5,42.
No Brazilian state recorded a reduction in the price of diesel and the most significant increase, of 18,74%, for common diesel was identified in Alagoas, which closed the period with a liter at R$ 6,02. The highest average was identified in Roraima, at R$7,06, and the lowest in São Paulo, at R$5,28.
The most significant increase for S-10 diesel, 11,07%, was recorded at the supply pumps in Pernambuco, which sold a liter at R$5,52. The highest average was found at pumps in Amapá, at R$6,65, and the lowest in Rio Grande do Sul, at R$5,36.
