This Friday, September 10th, at 14pm, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation – Embrapa, linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, will hold the webinar “Integrated management of banana Fusarium wilt”, which will be taught by agricultural engineer Fernando Haddad, researcher at Embrapa Mandioca e Fruticultura (Cruz das Almas BA).

Fusarium wilt, formerly called Panama disease, caused by the soil fungus Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense (Foc), has historically been one of the most destructive diseases of bananas. Embrapa Mandioca e Fruticultura's research strategy to generate technologies for its management has focused on lines that are fundamentally based on obtaining resistant genotypes and the development of options for integrated management of the disease, such as the use of biological control.

This lecture will present the technologies and their integration as an option for managing banana Fusarium wilt. Moderated by agricultural engineer Herminio Rocha, analyst at the Technology Transfer Management Supervisor, the event will be broadcast simultaneously on Embrapa's YouTube channel (youtube.com/embrapa) and Facebook of Embrapa Cassava and Fruticulture (facebook/embrapamandiocaefruticultura).
