Paddy rice buyers were more active in the market in recent days, including increasing the values offered for cereal, due to the need to replenish stocks. Trading agents were also interested in new export negotiations.

On the selling side, according to Cepea employees, producers remained cautious and continued to limit the number of lots for sale, awaiting better market alignment.

In this scenario, the price of bark – which on January 10 recorded the highest lowest nominal level since June 23, 2020 – started to rise, closing at R$ 62,54/50 kg bag this Tuesday, 18th, 0,7% above that observed on Tuesday previous (11).

It is worth noting, however, that bark prices have remained in the same range of R$ 62/sc since November 30, 2021. According to Cepea employees, the little fluctuation over a relatively long period may be indicative that the values reached the minimum level acceptable to sellers.
