Demand decreases and rice prices fall in RS

The pace of paddy rice sales in Rio Grande do Sul, which has been slow since mid-November, has weakened even further in recent days, resulting in further drops in prices. According to Cepea employees, most processing companies are less present in the spot market due to the reduction in demand from the wholesale and retail sectors in large consumer centers.

In this scenario, the ESALQ/SENAR-RS Indicator, 58% whole grains, with cash payment, registered a drop of 2,8% between December 8th and 15th, closing at R$ 95,48/50 kg bag this Tuesday - fair, December 15th.
