CropLife has new director of chemical pesticides

Roberto Araújo, with experience at BASF and Cyanamid, took over the position

Roberto Araujo (in the photo) took on the role of director of chemical pesticides at CropLife Brasil. Before that, he was "head of sustainability and stewardship" at the same entity for almost four years. Araújo has extensive experience in sustainability and marketing in the agricultural sector.

When announcing the new position, Roberto thanked Eduardo Leao de Sousa and André Franco, from the board of directors. He also thanked the members of the Defense Chamber.

Araújo has experience at BASF. There, he served as "Latin America communications manager" for almost 4 years. And he led the Eco + Foundation, which promotes sustainable development.

The new director also spent 10 years at the former American Cyanamid (acquired by BASF in 2000). His last position there was "product stewardship manager". He developed environmental and health safety programs.

His background is in agronomic engineering from the University of Brasília. She has postgraduate degrees in marketing from ESPM and the University of São Paulo. She holds MBAs from Fundação Getúlio Vargas and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He also specialized in plant protection at the Federal University of Viçosa, among others.
