The National Union of the Plant Defense Products Industry (Sindiveg) made the first part of the second module of its digital training platform on agricultural pesticides available. This stage of the course will address the application technology of these inputs. Those who missed the first module can still take it, with the right to a certificate of completion. The tool is completely free and can be accessed by anyone interested in the site. trainings.sindiveg.org.br.

"Agricultural pesticides are special products and require special care. Using them correctly and safely is beneficial for the producer, the environment, plantations and society. By optimizing applications, waste and dispersion are avoided waste. With effective control of pests, diseases and weeds, crops will be protected and will have high productivity and quality food for consumption", says the president of Sindiveg, Julio Borges.

The first module of the course addressed safety in the application of pesticides. Now, it will be time to talk about application technologies. The first part of the second module will cover concepts and nomenclature, reading labels and leaflets and preparing syrup. At the beginning of 2021, the second stage of this module will provide guidance on sprayer care, spray tips and drops, adjustment, calibration and maintenance of sprayers and correct disposal of packaging and product residues. Each completed module yields a certificate proving participation.

"Education on the correct and safe use of agricultural pesticides is one of the most important pillars of Sindiveg's work. This commitment leads us to invest in the dissemination of knowledge with a special focus on small producers, contributing to the safety of everyone involved in the cycle of agriculture, to care for the environment and to promote high productivity in the field", adds member of Sindiveg's executive board, Fabio Torretta.

The content of the second training module was prepared by Sindiveg, in partnership with Dr. Walter Boller, retired professor from the University of Passo Fundo (UPF), one of the most renowned experts in Brazil and a reference on the topic of agricultural pesticide application technology. .

So far, more than 5,5 people have registered on the platform, of which around 2,9 are farmers.
