Crop Care, which operates in the special inputs market for agribusiness, continues its expansion strategy. The company has just announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Cromo Química, a company based in Estrela, Rio Grande do Sul, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions precedent for closing the transaction.

Founded in 2018 by Josir Neuls and Fábio Queiroz, Cromo Química specializes in the production of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers for agriculture, focusing on soybean, corn, cotton and winter crops. Currently, the company operates mainly in the South and Central-West regions of Brazil.

“We are very happy with the arrival of Cromo Química. This association strengthens our participation in the market for high-performance adjuvants and enhancers. The priority will continue to be to grow with our current distributors and cooperatives and expand our access to farmers in the North and Northeast regions”, he explains. Marcelo Pessanha (pictured above), CEO of Crop Care.

“On behalf of Cromo Química, I can say that the association with a major player in the market was very well received. With this alliance, we have a clear vision of our expansion plan for the coming years, aiming to launch new products, structure governance and access the market. I am sure that the combination will make Cromo Química even more professional and innovative”, says Josir Neuls, CEO of Cromo Química.

The transaction is aligned with Crop Care's strategy of expanding the range of sustainable solutions, which already has a line of biological pesticides, post-patent agrochemicals and special fertilizers.

“We currently have more than 40 products in the portfolio. We believe that our high-performance adjuvants promote better use of agrochemicals and biologicals sprayed on crops, generating greater profitability and productivity for the farmer. Furthermore, all of our products are sustainable, mitigating risks to the environment”, explains Neuls.

One of Crop Care's priorities for the coming years is to expand its production and sales capacity. “We hope to invest in strengthening Cromo Química’s sales force, in addition to other support sectors, and, above all, in Research and Development. The future of agriculture lies in safe technologies that value the environmental agenda and respect legislation, without leaving aside the producer's profitability”, concludes the CEO of Crop Care.

In fiscal year 21/22, Crop Care's subsidiaries jointly earned around R$438,6 million. Agrobiológica Sustentabilidade alone reached a total of more than 11 million hectares treated with its products in Brazil. Crop Care is part of the Lavoro Group, whose controlling shareholders are funds managed by Pátria Investimentos Ltda.
