A campaign that involves SLC Agrícola, the largest grain and fiber producer in the country, as well as Tama, the company that owns the technology for baling cotton, will pack bales of cotton in pink. The action, entitled Algodão Pela Vida, was created to raise awareness about Breast Cancer and raise awareness about prevention in order to detect the disease early. The campaign will be carried out in regions close to SLC Agrícola Farms in Bahia, such as Barreiras and Luís Eduardo Magalhães.
For the People Management and Corporate Communication manager at SLC Agrícola, Déa Machado, participating in the Algodão pela Vida campaign brings great pride to the company. "We can encourage women to become aware of the need for the exam to promote the early detection of breast cancer, if any, and bring to the nearby communities, to our Farms in Bahia, a little more clarification on this topic that is so important for the women's health", he highlights.
According to Tama's Marketing Manager, Bruno Caetano Franco, the campaign is already being carried out worldwide, and for the first time SLC Agrícola is taking part in the action. “We made a pink version precisely to provoke reflection and also take advantage of the harvest to work on breast cancer prevention. This started in the United States when a cotton producer asked us to make the pink product in honor of his late wife, and then it became a global Tama campaign,” he explains.
The initiative will have the support of entities in the cotton sector, in addition to actions in the media and social networks. An institution that supports and combats breast cancer will be chosen to receive support for the action.
