Agrivalle and Nutrien Soluções Agrícolas announce partnership for the resale of biological products
Regenerative agriculture will be available to more Brazilian producers
Corteva Agriscience's Hortifrúti Line reinforces its portfolio and operations in the segment with the launch of a new generation of fungicides, Generation Z, which has an exclusive molecule, Zorvec Technology. The novelty seeks to revolutionize the market, raising the level of control of the most destructive diseases in the horticultural universe and promoting better yields and more productive crops in all seasons of the year.
The new Zorvec Entido fungicide focuses on potato crops and targets late blight, the crop's main disease, which strongly impacts harvest productivity, with losses of up to 100%. Potatoes are one of the main agricultural crops on the planet and have great socioeconomic importance. Brazil produces around 4,1 million tons per year, in an average area of 100 thousand hectares.
Zorvec Encantia focuses on tomato cultivation and is versatile for 17 other fruit and vegetable crops, such as grapes, melons, watermelons and hardwoods. It is indicated for the control of late blight, a highly aggressive disease in tomato crops and capable of damaging entire crops in a few days. As well as downy mildew in several crops, which causes premature leaf fall, destruction of flowers and fruits, resulting in major economic losses.
“The launch of Zorvec is very important for Corteva. It took more than 10 years of research to develop an innovative molecule that presents an incomparable combination of consistency and control. It is the best control of oomycetes (mildew and late blight) ever seen in the segment. The new products have two specialist assets, they came to change everything in terms of effectiveness, protection and productivity and will be great allies for the producer in all phases of cultivation and in challenging climatic conditions”, says Tainá Sipos (photo), Portfolio Leader at Hortifrúti Line from Corteva Agriscience.
The launches present a different mode of action, acting on a completely new metabolic part, which produces multiple effects on the oomycete's life cycle and which does not present cross-resistance with other fungicides on the market. Due to its ascending systemic behavior, it protects the leaves as they grow and expand, even guaranteeing the protection of new shoots even if they have not been treated. The recommendation is that the application be carried out preventively, at the time of vegetative growth of fruit and vegetable crops, in which the productive potential of the crop is defined.
The new products offer long-lasting control and rapid absorption, which allows high tolerance to washing by rain or irrigation water, and are allies in the anti-resistance strategy. Furthermore, Zorvec Technology has won international recognition for its effectiveness already observed in other countries where it is commercialized, such as the Agrow Awards in 2012, 2014 and 2016 for its innovative chemistry, best innovation in formulation and best launch for disease control.
All Corteva technologies have guidance on their correct use, in addition to undergoing rigorous testing before being approved by regulatory bodies. The company also has a robust Good Agricultural Practices program, which covers several states in Brazil, promoting technical training for producers, agronomists and consultants on weed management, integrated pest management, disease management, application technology and worker safety.
