Helm do Brasil hosts Rally Mulheres do Agro
Initiative, supported by Helm, seeks to reinforce the role of women in agribusiness, which has grown in recent years
Corteva Agriscience launches this Thursday (13/02) the company's third platform, which joins the areas of Crop Protection and Seeds. Named Granular, the brand's new digital arm was acquired in 2017 by Dow Dupont's Agricultural Division. Originating in Silicon Valley, in the United States, Granular arrives in Brazil with accumulated knowledge in monitoring and mapping agricultural areas not only in the North American country, but also in Canada and Australia.
In the Brazilian market, the brand presents Granular Insights. This is the company's first solution in Brazil, which offers operational, financial and agronomic data software, and is also present in Canada and Australia. Granular Insights is a tool that allows producers to direct monitoring in the field to identify changes in crops, facilitate collaboration with partners and provide information for decision-making with confidence and time savings, seeking to increase profitability.
“Our mission is to use technology to help producers strengthen their businesses and take care of the land for the new generations to come, improving lives in the countryside and, consequently, in the city”, explains Lucas Melo, Marketing Leader at Granular in Brazil. “We are working to expand our operation in different regions of the country in terms of number of users and monitored area”, adds the executive.
Granular Insights uses images captured by a constellation of satellites, at a resolution of 3x3m, mostly from 10am to 14pm local time, to take advantage of the angle of the sun at its height and deliver only the highest quality images. “Before walking from field to field, the producer can direct his work by detecting, using Granular Insights, which area deserves the most attention that day,” concludes Melo.
The tool allows crops to be analyzed at any time, anywhere, with plot rankings to help prioritize and make decisions, even without internet or cell phone network. Granular Insights is available for use on computers and cell phones, with exclusive apps for iOS and Android and can be used in different cultures, at different stages of development.
With a pilot project presented in Brazil firsthand during the Safra Show, in Lucas do Rio Verde, in March 2019, the platform has since been shown at several agricultural events, along with other Corteva launches.
Complete coverage with details on the launch of the Granular digital platform can be found on the Portal, social networks and printed edition of Cultivar magazine.
