Between the 9th and 12th of April, the city of Campo Novo do Parecis is expected to receive around 20 thousand people due to the Parecis SuperAgro agricultural fair, one of the most important agricultural events in the Brazilian center-west. The meeting, which is in its 12th edition, will have the participation of Corteva agriscience, DowDuPont's Agricultural Division, which was born from the merger of the multinationals Dow and DuPont.

“Corteva has a complete portfolio, offering solutions for the most important crops in the country and through a multichannel strategy. For this reason, participation in events, such as Parecis SuperAgro, is very important for the company, as it allows the presentation of our solutions, demonstrating how innovation can contribute to even more efficient farming”, he states. Roberto Hun, president of Corteva Agriscience, DowDuPont Agricultural Division in Brazil and Paraguay.

During the event, Corteva will present its solutions Granular, a company specializing in digital agriculture. Born in Silicon Valley, in the United States, Granular leads this market in that country with management software, targeted monitoring and assessment of areas, which work with information from different sources for decision making. Acquired in 2017 by DowDuPont's Agricultural Division, Granular is present in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and now also in Brazil.

“Our objective is to expand Granular’s international expansion, starting in South America, here in Brazil. We already have some pilots and we are intensifying the search for agricultural innovation at a time when precision agriculture is giving way to information agriculture. We are bringing the Granular platform, responsible for Corteva’s digital agriculture pillar, to Brazil”, comments Hun.

Anyone visiting the Corteva stand will also be able to participate in an audiovisual experience, which consists of a closed space with mapped projections that demonstrate the damage caused by pests, weeds and diseases in crops. While the guest lives the experience, he learns about the best solutions to face the problems that “steal the productivity” of crops such as corn and soybeans.

It will still be possible to learn a little more about Good Agricultural Practices in the space that Corteva Agriscience has prepared to address topics such as Weed Management; Integrated Pest Management; Application Technology; Worker Safety and Disease Management (new this year). There, visitors will be able to participate in interactive games and test their knowledge about pests and weeds.

Another Corteva highlight for the fair is the area dedicated to cotton cultivation, where producers will have access to WideStrike 3 caterpillar protection technology, which contains three proteins: Cry1Ac, Cry1F and a vegetative insecticidal protein (Vip3A) from Bacillus thuringiensis (BT). WideStrike 3 technology offers superior protection throughout the entire cotton crop cycle, protecting the crop from a wide variety of important caterpillars, such as the apple bollworm (Chloridea virescens), fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), Helicoverpa Caterpillar (Helicoverpa armigera), Black Caterpillar (cosmioides spodoptera), Mosquito caterpillar (Chrysodeixis includens), Pod caterpillar (Spodoptera eridania*), Cotton Curuquerê (Alabama argillacea) and the pink cotton bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella*), contributing to a potential reduction in the number of insecticide applications. Multiple modes of action provide more effective protection, helping to manage the resistance of target pests and the sustainability of the technology. In this space, producers will also be able to learn about other solutions for pest control, such as the Dermarcor treatment and the Exalt insecticide, as well as the Verdict Max herbicide.

It will still be possible to understand a little more about the technology list at the Corteva stand - it enables the use of 2,4-D on Enlist soybean and Enlist corn crops to maximize the crops' productive potential. Visitors will have access to experts and researchers and will be able to ask questions about the benefits of technology that presents new herbicides (with reduced drift potential, low odor and ultra-low volatility); high productivity varieties and hybrids; new Bt technologies and greater practicality.
