Corteva Agriscience is present at the IX Sintag – International Symposium on Application Technology –, which takes place from September 9th to 11th in Campo Grande (MS). The company participates in the event with a stand, lectures and the 5th Good Agricultural Practices Award for Application Technology, which seeks to encourage actions that improve the methodology of scientific research in work on the application of agricultural pesticides, recognizing the best projects from students from all over Brazil.
“Corteva believes that the debate and exchange of experiences between professionals in the segment and academia are fundamental to raising the level of knowledge about application technology and the adoption of good agricultural practices, guaranteeing a sustainable future for agribusiness”, says Ana Cristina Pinheiro, Seed Regulation and Stewardship Leader at Corteva.
Promoted by the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) and the Foundation for Agricultural and Forestry Studies and Research (FEPAF), Sintag had its first edition in 1996 and, this year, its theme is “Recent Evolution and Technological Innovations”. During the meeting, the company will give two lectures. Corteva researcher in Indianapolis (USA), Roberto Barbosa, will present the main trends in application technology in the world, on September 10, at 11:30 am. Nathan de Castro, the company's researcher in Brazil, will talk about water quality and emulsions, on September 11, at 14:45 pm.
Another attraction at Corteva are the interactive games that visitors can check out at the stand to test their knowledge about pest control, weeds and application technology. On site, it is also possible to acquire more information about Good Agricultural Practices from the company's experts, who will be available throughout the event to answer participants' questions.
On September 10, the company will announce the winners of the 5th Good Agricultural Practices Award for Application Technology, promoted by Corteva and which had more than 110 entries related to the application technology of phytosanitary products.
“The award reinforces Corteva’s commitment to Good Agricultural Practices, which contribute both to farmer productivity and to the sustainability of agribusiness. This year we had an increase in the number of registrations, which reinforces the importance of the topic”, adds Ana Cristina Pinheiro.
The research is evaluated by a judging committee made up of representatives from technical, scientific and academic areas related to the topic of application technology, taking into account three main aspects: applicability, technological innovation and detail. The three best evaluated works will be awarded cash prizes. The first place winner will also be invited to present their project to research leaders at Corteva headquarters. The company will also support the publication of the winning work in a magazine with large circulation within the area of interest.
