Corteva announces change of DuPont name

Corteva announced today (28/12) that its subsidiary "E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company" will change its name to EIDP, Inc.

According to the statement, "all in accordance with its contractual obligations related to its separation from DowDuPont, Inc."

The change will take effect from January 1, 2023.

"E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company" is a wholly owned subsidiary of Corteva, Inc.

Since the announcement of the merger between Dow and DuPont, the chronology of the deal has been as follows:

• 11/12/2015 - Dow and DuPont announce their merger into a company called DowDuPont

• 10/06/2016 - Dow and DuPont present their statement of terms for consolidation to the market. This document reveals that, upon completion of the transaction, Dow and DuPont would no longer have their common shares traded publicly and that shareholders would now own shares of DowDuPont and would not directly own any shares of Dow or DuPont.

• 31/03/2017 - FMC and DuPont announce agreement for FMC to acquire portion of DuPont's crop protection business. The sale aimed to comply with a European Commission decision related to the merger with Dow. Additionally, DuPont acquired FMC Health and Nutrition and will receive $1,2 billion in cash. FMC acquired DuPont's global portfolio of chewing insecticides, broadleaf cereal herbicides, and a substantial portion of its global crop protection R&D capabilities

• 15/06/2017 - Dow and DuPont issue press release stating that they had received antitrust clearance from the US Department of Justice and that the transaction would be completed in August 2017

• 04/08/2017 - Dow and DuPont issue a press release establishing August 31, 2017 as the date for the transaction. The release stated that Dow and DuPont shares would cease trading at the close of the New York Stock Exchange on August 31 and DowDuPont shares would begin trading on September 1, 2017
