Corteva Agriscience strengthens operations in the seed treatment area with new global brand

Corteva Agriscience is strengthening its presence in the seed treatment market by expanding its portfolio, services and industrial infrastructure to commercial partners. The company entered this segment as an independent company in 2019, but carrying more than 90 years of experience from legacy companies. Currently, Corteva is among the three main players in the sector and is a leader in seed treatment for corn cultivation.

Among the new features, Corteva launches in Brazil the global brand of its industrial seed treatment system, LumiGENTM, applied to Pioneer and Brevant Sementes seeds, which represents all the quality in protection combined with genetics and anchored in three pillars that only Corteva can offer: development, testing and validation. A practical example are the more than 100 concepts and product combinations evaluated each year and around 30 thousand experiments to select the best treatments. The materials are tested in real conditions, in the field.

The company also reinforced investment in its services pillar by offering high-tech industrial equipment to commercial partners, supporting implementation to ensure the quality of seed treatment offered to farmers. Another Corteva initiative was the creation of the Seed Treaty campaign. To spread the development, potential and protection of the seed, the producers' most valuable asset, the company joined forces with multipliers, cooperatives, distributors and end customers, who are the ambassadors of this alliance, with the aim of sowing a more productive future for from seed treated with quality.

Since 2019, Corteva has also had CSAT – Technology Center for Seed Treatment, in Formosa (GO), the company's first in Latin America and second in the world, which offers knowledge and services to enhance the production and investment of multipliers , internal brands and producers. At CSAT, Corteva is dedicated to the PASSER methodology, the company's exclusive process for evaluating seed treatments, which analyzes issues such as regulatory aspects, plantability, effectiveness and vigor, amount of active ingredient and longevity, and is an important tool for carrying out customization of operations.

Corteva also brings innovation to this market through the renowned insecticide Dermacor, which focuses on soybean, corn and cotton crops and, recently, had its registration expanded to sorghum. Anchor of the portfolio, Dermacor offers control of the main soil and initial foliar pests, such as Elasmo and Spodoptera frugiperda, providing the producer with excellent stand maintenance and rapid crop establishment, maximizing the productive potential of the treated seed.
