For the second year in a row, Corteva Agriscience is a sponsor of the “National Meeting of Cooperative Women”, the largest cooperative event dedicated to women. In virtual format, the meeting will be held on September 21st and 22nd, from 8:30 am to 18 pm. The program includes important names from Brazilian agribusiness, as well as personalities such as former basketball player Oscar Schmidt and Father Fábio de Melo.

Over the two days, participants will be able to attend lectures on leadership, sustainability, financial markets, entrepreneurship, technology and communication. The objective of the event is to contribute to the training of women in agribusiness in Brazil and encourage their performance as entrepreneurs. “Fostering meetings like this is another of the many initiatives that Corteva promotes to encourage the protagonism of women in agribusiness”, highlights Rosemeire Santos, Government Relations Manager at Corteva Agriscience.

Corteva will lead two pro panelsgramming. On the first day of the event, at 16pm, Rosemeire Santos will moderate the panel with Vivian Bialski, Corteva's Communications Director for Latin America, and rural producers Geni Schenkel and Flavia Montans on Agro-Urban Communication. On the occasion, they will discuss how to bring agriculture closer to large urban centers, highlighting the connection between the countryside and the city.

On the 22nd, at 16pm, the highlight will be Innovation in Agro. Mariana Castanho, Commercial and Innovation Leader at Corteva, and Fabrício Passini, responsible for Projects and Demand Generation at Corteva, will moderate a chat with Bruno Dupin, CEO of Startup Connection. During the panel, they will discuss how innovation has been essential for advances in the sector, contributing to even safer and more sustainable food production.

Participation in the event is one of several actions carried out by Corteva to increase female participation in the sector. Among them, a highlight is the Agribusiness Women's Leadership Academy, held in partnership with the Dom Cabral Foundation (FDC) and the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG). More than 300 students have already gone through the project, launched in 2019, and around 8 thousand people have already been impacted as a result of the work of these women in their respective communities.
