Corteva AgriscienceTM holds a new edition of Agronomy Day - technical training, of an educational nature, developed in partnership by the areas of Agronomy, Research and Development, Marketing and Sales, in the city of Mogi Mirim, in the State of São Paulo. The initiative's main objective is to increase the level of technical knowledge of Corteva's internal and external teams and customers. This week, the focus of the training will be the horticultural sector, which, according to data from the Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA), produces more than 53 million tons per year.
“Agronomy Day is made up of three stages: the first, called Diagnosis, consists of identifying relevant themes, that is, it is at this stage that we diagnose farmers' problems. The idea is to empathetically replicate the problem he has on the farm so that we can discuss the best techniques and solutions. The second stage is focused on understanding product attributes, and the third demonstrates how these solutions fit into each crop”, explains Marcus Santos, Agronomy Leader at Corteva Agriscience™.
Training is carried out in a large field area with stations dedicated to each subject, in this edition, insecticides and fungicides. Over a period of time, participants pass through all the structures, where they participate in technical discussions and, subsequently, have the opportunity to circulate through planted areas that exemplify everything previously discussed. The scope of each event is defined depending on the audience that will participate, as the training is adapted to focus on the problems and solutions of each region.
“This is an excellent opportunity for farmers to learn how each product behaves in relation to its attributes and what is the best application for each of them”, explains Alison Rampazzo, Marketing Manager for Vegetables, Coffee and Citrus at Corteva Agriscience.
The purpose of Agronomy Day is to bring education to people, so that they are able to form their opinions and make the best choices, completely in synergy with good agricultural practices, a pillar widely disseminated by Corteva. “We have an important mission, which is to understand the customer’s production system. We need to have his vision of the business, thinking about several factors at the same time. This way, we will be able to understand your needs, guide you and present the strength of our integrated and most complete portfolio on the market, so that we can be more technically effective. This is fully aligned with the company's purpose, to enrich the lives of those who produce and consume, guaranteeing the future of the next generations”, adds Santos.
The events are held throughout Brazil, in regions close to large agricultural centers and bring together around 100 people in a single day. Throughout the year, more than 30 editions of Agronomy Day will be held in several Brazilian states. The program includes training focused on soybeans, corn, sugar cane, horticulture and pasture, according to the harvests of each crop. In Mogi Mirim (SP), there will be 3 days of training, from June 26th to 28th, focusing on fruit and vegetables.
For the fruit and vegetable sector, Corteva has a broad portfolio, highlighting insecticides and fungicides. With a focus on chewing insect control, producers can count on Delegate® / Tracer®, insecticides to control the Lepidoptera (caterpillars), Diptera (miner fly and fruit fly) and Thysanopteros in different cultures. In the fungicide line, Dithane stands out® NT/Fore® NT as protectors, in addition to Curzate/ Curathane WP, both Top of Mind brands in their respective segments. Complementing foliar fungicides, we highlight Midas® BR, Equation® and Kocide® WDG indicated for preventive control of bacterioses and effective in combating early blight. Finally, Pulsor®, specific soil fungicide for the control of Rhizoctonia in potato crops.
