Corteva Agriscience brings technical knowledge about Good Agricultural Practices to the Northeast

The “Agriculture Expedition for Life”, the main project of Corteva Agriscience’s Good Agricultural Practices area, begins, from September 29th, a new route along the roads of the Northeast, covering the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba and Rio Grande From north.
The training will provide farmers with knowledge about five pillars that make a difference in their daily lives in the field: weed, pest and disease management, application technology and worker safety and will take place in the cities of Petrolina and Caruaru, in Pernambuco; Campina Grande, in Paraíba; and in Mossoró, in Rio Grande do Norte.
In Petrolina, in addition to the “Agriculture for Life Expedition”, Corteva will hold Agronomy Day, focusing on mango and grape crops, in which the areas of agronomy, research and development will demonstrate in practice how the solutions from the company's portfolio The company assists producers in the daily challenges of farming in an attempt to maximize productivity and profitability.
In the cities of Caruaru, Campina Grande and Mossoró, in addition to Good Agricultural Practices training, there will be a special action with Professor Dr. Carlos Nogueira, Entomologist from the State University of Bahia - Juazeiro/BA, who will discuss the topic “ Resistance Management”. A major problem in the Northeast, the consultant will highlight how to carry out the best pest management in the region's main crops, such as melons, watermelons, peppers, tomatoes and hardwoods.
“This project focuses mainly on technical training, education and training. We want more and more farmers to have access to the best practices so that they can achieve high productivity and profitability, ensuring the advancement of the entire region”, explains Julliane Fuscaldi, Stewardship Specialist at Corteva Agriscience for Crop Protection.
The “Agriculture for Life Expedition” traveling truck is 7 meters long and 3,5 meters wide, with an adapted trunk divided into visually attractive environments. Each training theme features interactive theoretical and practical presentations, which are carried out in these environments and through a 75-inch touch screen on which participants test their knowledge in a playful way. A herbarium, an insectarium and a seedary complement learning by facilitating the identification of invasive pests. Furthermore, it is possible to identify situations that contribute to drift, using the Drift Simulator also attached to the truck.
