Management to minimize damage to grapes due to the occurrence of late frosts
The arrival of another cold front, with the possibility of frost next weekend, is worrying producers who already have their vines sprouted in Serra Gaúcha
Corteva Agriscience held this Thursday, September 3, the Colheita Farta Safra 19/20 awards event, an initiative developed in partnership with the National Challenge for Maximum Soy Productivity of the CESB (Brazilian Soy Strategic Committee) that aims to stimulate high soybean productivity and rewards farmers who achieved better regional and national results.
Held virtually for the first time, the meeting revealed the big winners of the competition, which is in its 2nd edition by Corteva Agriscience. In the Irrigated category, the champion was Edson Norio Tanabe, from Água Fria de Goiás (GO), with 99,91 bags of soybeans per hectare. “I was very happy with the result achieved. The Corteva team brought me knowledge, reliable products and added results to my productivity. For next year, we will continue to challenge new limits”, says Edson.
In the Non-Irrigated South category, the winner was Egon Heinrich Milla, from Candói, in Paraná, with 116,44 sc/ha. “We were very happy and proud with the victory in the competition and also with the result for the year as a whole, both in soybeans and corn”, declares Egon. In the Non-Irrigated Cerrado category, the champion was Marcelo Baron Polanczyk, from Cabeceiras, in the state of Goiás, with 89,67 sc/ha. “Farming responds to the use of technology. The increase in productivity was possible due to excellent quality products, varieties with very high potential and a normal climate”, concludes Paulo Baron (Marcelo’s partner).
To participate, soybean farmers had to register a minimum area of 10 hectares and apply solutions offered by Corteva for soybean management. The results were evaluated according to the criteria adopted by CESB. “Colheita Farta is another Corteva initiative to stimulate increased productivity throughout Brazil and, consequently, generate greater profitability for soybean farmers, in addition to promoting knowledge about correct management, the best solutions for soybean cultivation and reinforcing good agricultural practices”, says Corteva Agriscience’s Crop Protection Marketing Leader, Felipe Daltro.
