Corteva Agriscience brings news to the “Agriculture Expedition for Life” project this year. In addition to the four pillars of Good Agricultural Practices initiatives: Weed Management, Integrated Pest Management, Application Technology and Worker Safety, Disease Management becomes part of the scope of training. “Corteva today has the most complete portfolio on the market and this also needs to be reflected in our main Good Agricultural Practices program. With the inclusion of disease management in our training, we meet another need for consultants, agronomists and technicians who go through the program,” explains Jair Maggioni, coordinator of Good Agricultural Practices at Corteva Agriscience.

After an internal redesign, the truck will be able to accommodate up to 20 people at a time, an increase of more than 25% in capacity. And as part of the new features, a 75-inch touch screen will bring more dynamism and interactivity to classes, as well as an insectarium, with several species of resin resins, which will be used for case studies in each region the truck passes through.

In the application technology pillar, participants will be able to view in detail the different models of application tips through models with 3D cuts – exclusive pieces in Brazil, which facilitate the farmer's understanding of the topic.

The itinerant educational project will visit 20 Brazilian cities. The program started in Rio Grande do Sul and now arrives in Londrina, Paraná, where it will take place on the 12th and 13th of June. The truck will also pass through the states of São Paulo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Tocantins, Maranhão, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais and the Federal District.

The truck will remain in each municipality for two days, which allows up to four 4-hour training sessions to be carried out in each location, given to consultants, agronomists and technicians responsible for cultivation. To implement the training, Corteva counts on the collaboration of academics and researchers from the agricultural division.

What is the Good Agricultural Practices traveling truck like?

The truck is 7 meters long and 3,5 meters wide, with an adapted trunk divided into visually attractive environments. Each topic taught will feature interactive theoretical and practical presentations, which will be carried out in these environments and through a 75-inch touch screen where participants will test their knowledge in a playful way. A herbarium and a seedbed complement the learning of the Weed Management pillar, facilitating the identification of invaders.

Technology and education are two areas in which the company invests and has its values linked, always with the aim of training and disseminating the best integrated practices throughout the cultivation and production process. Good Agricultural Practices are one of the priorities of the “Agriculture for Life Expedition”, which aims to commit the company to sustainable agribusiness.
