While negotiations at ports have continued intense since the beginning of this month, driven by greater external demand, in the interior of the country, liquidity has been low. This is because, paying attention to appreciation in ports and waiting for new price increases, farmers prioritize sales to the foreign market and limit availability in the national spot. This scenario, added to the greater presence of buyers, has been increasing corn prices.

The strongest demand in Brazilian ports occurs even during the harvest period in the United States. Thus, greater external demand is influenced by lean global supply, given climate problems in the Northern Hemisphere, which have reduced supply, and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which results in limitations on logistics in the Black Sea.

In turn, comfortable Brazilian stocks and the expectation of a voluminous summer harvest encourage producers to negotiate corn for export. As a result, by the third week of November (considering 12 working days), Brazilian shipments had already surpassed the volume shipped in the entire month of November of the previous year.
