Domestic corn prices rose strongly again at the beginning of the year. According to Cepea researchers, the restriction of sellers – who are uncertain about crop productivity –, the good pace of exports in December and high prices at ports boosted prices, which are once again operating at record levels.

Between December 30th and January 8th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas – SP) rose 5,02%, closing at R$ 82,60/sc of 60 kg on Friday, January 8th, close to the nominal record registered on October 28, 2020, at R$82,67/sc.
