Last week, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas – SP) for corn reached the historic mark of R$100/60 kg bag – a new real record in the Cepea historical series. The low supply of cereal on the national spot market is the main supporting factor.

According to Cepea researchers, although the summer harvest is in its final stages, many producers are staying away from sales, worried about the development of second season crops, which could be harmed by the dry climate. Buyers already show the need to replenish stocks.

In Paraná, the competition for grain is fierce, and Cepea employees indicate that, in some cases, sales intentions reach R$ 110/sc.
