According to the Emater/RS Economic Information, the main activity in Rio Grande do Sul last week was the harvest of corn, which reached 57% of the cultivated area. Maturing crops represent 18% of the total; 10% are in grain filling; 8% in flowering; and 7% in germination and vegetative development. The rains that occurred between 23 and 24/02, irregular and in very varied volumes, benefited the smallest part of the crops. The estimated cultivation area for the 2022/2023 harvest is 831.786 hectares.
A soybean There is a predominance of crops in reproductive phases, with 30% in flowering and 54% in grain filling, another 10% already in maturation and 6% still in germination and vegetative development. The occurrence of irregular rainfall, more concentrated in the north of the state, alleviated the lack of humidity in part of the crops, where accumulated volumes exceeded 30mm. The projected area for the 2022/2023 harvest is 6.568.607 hectares. The initially estimated productivity is 3.131 kg/ha.
the harvest of rice is in the initial phase. It is estimated that 6% of the crops have been harvested and that 37% are maturing, allowing for an increase in operations in the coming days. However, 57% are still in grain filling (38%), flowering (14%) and vegetative development (5%), which still require attention in water supply for irrigation. The occurrence of rain, between 23 and 26/02, contributed to complementing irrigation in regions with higher rainfall and restored part of the water in some reservoirs and water courses. The estimated rice area by IRGA is 862.498 hectares. The projected productivity is 8.226 kg/ha.
