Copersucar has unveiled its new brand identity and announced its new purpose: “to nourish and move the world with the power of connection.” The proposal reflects its commitment to the energy transition and the development of sustainable solutions. Copersucar is a world leader in the marketing of ethanol and sugar, and is present in more than 70 countries.

Founded as a cooperative of sugar and alcohol producers in the state of São Paulo, Copersucar has established itself as a global ecosystem. Today, it connects 38 sugarcane mills in Brazil and 17 corn ethanol distilleries in the United States. Its logistics system, which includes terminals in Santos and several US states, facilitates the efficient distribution of its products. The company is also a shareholder in Logum, a pipeline system for transporting ethanol.

Copersucar CEO Tomás Manzano highlighted the company's pioneering role in bioenergy production. According to him, the volume of ethanol sold in the 2023/2024 harvest prevented the emission of 36,7 million tons of CO2. This result is equivalent to the annual impact of 18 million gasoline-powered vehicles.

Copersucar is also investing in new biofuels, such as biomethane and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Biomethane has the potential to replace natural gas and diesel, in addition to contributing to the reduction of the carbon intensity of products. The company expects its associated plants to produce up to 2 million cubic meters of biomethane per day by 2032.

Regarding SAF, Copersucar has partnered with Geo to develop a pilot plant that is expected to begin operating in 2025. The project aims to transform biomethane into sustainable aviation fuel. Copersucar has also expanded its operations in the electricity sector, acquiring 50% of NewCom to increase its share of the free energy market in Brazil.
