Copacol won, for the second year running, the Seedcare seal of excellence for industrial seed treatment (TSI), a certification granted by Syngenta. To achieve certification, some points must be followed: ideal dosage of treatment per seed, high germination, maintenance of machinery, care for employees, protection of the environment and compliance with legislation. In addition to Syngenta professionals, external auditors also carried out the evaluation of the seeds to provide the seal.
“For us, having recognition through this seal is a source of pride, as we focus our efforts on daily work to deliver the best technical solutions that bring profitability to our members. Being recognized by Syngenta as a quality standard only reinforces that Copacol's work is being done well”, stated the Cooperative's Inputs Manager, Fernando Fávero.
Having a quality seed makes all the difference in the production process. Therefore, Copacol is concerned with carrying out research and treatments on the cooperative's seeds that are sold, which guarantees the physiological quality of each one. Care throughout the entire production process, from choosing the fields where the seeds are planted and harvested, to the research carried out at the CPA (Agricultural Research Center) and correct storage, is what makes the difference.
Currently, Copacol has two TSI units, in Cafelândia and Cascavel, in the west of Paraná, which have modern equipment to guarantee the adequate application of seed treatment. In addition to the quality of the TSI, Copacol also invested in refrigerated seed storage: air conditioning programmed at 15ºC and a relative humidity of 55% guarantee the maintenance of the physiological quality of the seeds.
