Cooxupé promotes the 5th Coffee and Climate Forum on July 27th

Experts will present the consequences of climate behavior in the current coffee harvest and the impacts on future harvests; Program starts at 14pm

On July 27th, from 14pm to 17pm, the Regional Coffee Growers Cooperative in Guaxupé will promote the 5th Cooxupé Coffee and Climate Forum. The event will be held in the Matriz auditorium, in Guaxupé (MG), and can also be followed online, live, via Hub do Café and the cooperative's YouTube channel.

This year, the Forum will debate climate issues in the 2023 coffee harvest and forecasts for 2024, in addition to presenting environmental and climatological information, with lectures from experts and researchers in the field.

The program will feature three lectures. The agronomist from the Cooxupé Geoprocessing Department, Guilherme Vinícius Teixeira, will present the meteorological conditions and consequences that occurred from August 2021 to April 2023, in the area of ​​operation of the cooperative that maintains the production of Arabica coffee for its members.

The agrometeorologist from the company Rural Clima, Marco Antônio dos Santos, will address climate forecasts for the coming months, in the various coffee growing regions of Brazil.

To top it off, the professor of Physiology at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), José Donizete Alves, will explain how the weather conditions that occurred between August 2021 and April 2023 affected the coffee crop being harvested this year and will also describe the what to expect from the 2024 harvest (taking into account the weather conditions that occurred between August/22 to June/23), as well as climate forecasts between July/2023 and April/2024.

The mediation of the 5th Cooxupé Coffee and Climate Forum will be carried out by the agricultural engineer, Mário Ferraz de Araújo, who is also the cooperative's Technical Development manager. The event is aimed at professionals, producers and scholars in the areas of agronomy and coffee production.
