The Regional Coffee Growers' Cooperative in Guaxupé is expanding its operations and officially announcing its entry into the cereal market, with a partnership agreement signed with Agrobom, a company founded in 2006 in Bom Jesus da Penha, in the south of Minas Gerais, with activities focused on grains. The partnership solidifies Cooxupé's investments in the diversification of its business, which now also includes the processes of receiving, marketing and exporting soybeans and corn.

Cooxupé has maintained a consolidated trajectory in Brazilian cooperatives for over 90 years and has been working in the coffee business for 67 years, exporting the commodity to 50 countries on five continents. According to the cooperative's president, Carlos Augusto Rodrigues de Melo, entering the cereal market meets a growing demand from coffee cooperative members who also produce soybeans and corn on their properties, as well as expanding Cooxupé's operations in the national agribusiness and in the international market.

“We saw great potential in hectares and in the production of cereals, especially soybeans, by our members, and Cooxupé’s entry into this market will allow us to attract new producers who are involved with these agricultural crops. The cooperative has the structure to provide all types of assistance, whether in the field or in service units, to strengthen the activities of these farmers,” he highlights.

According to the president, the partnership with Agrobom marks a new and synergistic moment for Cooxupé. “This combination of skills is in line with our objectives, established in a strategic plan, which aim, among other purposes, to increase the cooperative’s participation in the global commodities market. We already have a consolidated international trajectory with the production and export of coffee and we are confident that investments in the diversification of our business will allow for more growth and greater relevance for the activities of our producers and for the cooperative in the global context”, he adds.
