Agricultural auditors will send a new proposal to MGI for career restructuring
This decision marks a significant step towards reopening dialogue with the government
From May 21st to 23rd, the XXIV International Coffee Seminar - Santos Brasil 2024 will take place at the Blue Med Convention Center, in the city of Santos. The president of Cooxupé, Carlos Augusto Rodrigues de Melo, has a confirmed presence and will mediate the lecture "Is the current surplus large enough to satisfy market needs?", together with CEOs Teddy Esteve (General Director Ecom Agroindustrial Corp), Trishul Mandana (General Director of Coffee – Volcafé) and Ben Clarkson (Global Director of Coffee Platform at Louis Dreyfus Company). The meeting will be on May 22nd, at 16pm.
"Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world and, certainly, the country's stocks are always in evidence in the face of the demands of the domestic and international markets. This debate aims to present how Brazil finds itself in this scenario and the its role in the global coffee supply", says Melo, president of the cooperative.
In addition to the lecture, Cooxupé will bring its Generations Protocol to the event, presenting to the international community the work carried out with more than 19 thousand members in relation to the ESG Agenda. The cooperative will also be the official cafeteria of the Seminar, serving the public the superior Prima Qualità coffee.
Cooxupé is a cooperative that produces Arabica coffee in more than 340 municipalities in the southern and cerrado regions of Minas Gerais, Matas de Minas and Middle Mogiana in the state of São Paulo. In 2023, it received 6,5 million bags of coffee from its members. In Brazilian coffee production, last year, Cooxupé was responsible for receiving 23% of the Arabica coffee production in the state of Minas Gerais and 16,7% of the Arabica production in Brazil, considering its volume of coffee received compared to data from Conab – National Supply Company. 80% of Cooxupé's activities correspond to exports to 50 countries.
