Coopernorte, the largest agro-industrial cooperative in the North of Brazil, announces the start of parboiled rice production at its agro-industrial unit located in Paragominas (PA). The initiative is part of the strategy to expand the cooperative's product portfolio, which already includes white rice, carioca, horse and black beans, as well as corn derivatives (cornmeal, couscous, flakes, canjica and popcorn).
“The production of parboiled rice meets the growing demand from local consumers for more nutritious and easy-to-prepare products. Packaging of the first products began in January of this year and they will soon be available on the shelves of the region’s main supermarkets,” highlights Bazílio Carloto, CEO of Coopernorte.
Since the inauguration of its agroindustry in May 2024, the result of an investment of more than R$73 million, Coopernorte has stood out in grain processing and packaging. The unit has cutting-edge technology, including automation systems with robots, polishers, sieves and electronic sorters, aiming to guarantee high-quality products for the regional and national markets.
The CEO of Coopernorte, Bazilio Carloto (pictured), highlights that the expansion of the portfolio reinforces the cooperative's commitment to adding value to local agricultural production and offering quality food to the population. "Paragominas is already an example in sustainable grain production for the entire country and we also want to position ourselves as a reference in quality industrialization in the regional and national market", he states.
