Considered the largest agroindustrial cooperative in Northern Brazil, Coopernorte was selected by the OCB System in the "Your Coop at COP30" call for proposals and will be present at the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30). The event will take place in Belém, Pará, from November 10th to 21st of this year. The cooperative will represent Amazonian cooperativism with four initiatives focused on innovation, sustainability, and strengthening agriculture in the region.

During the event, Coopernorte will participate in a face-to-face panel discussion on "Embrapa-Coopernorte Cooperation: Innovation and Climate Resilience for the Amazon," highlighting the collaborative work between the cooperative and Embrapa in the search for sustainable solutions for Amazonian producers facing climate challenges.

Additionally, the cooperative will present three digital exhibitions addressing projects with regional impact: the Cooper+ Productivity Program: an initiative focused on innovation, sustainability, and increased productivity in the field; the Coopernorte Research and Analysis Center (CPAC) – applied research and climate resilience for cooperative agriculture in the Amazon; and the Coopernorte Agroindustry: a model for adding value and promoting food security in Pará.

According to Ingrid Assunção, Communications and Marketing Coordinator at Coopernorte, the presence at COP30 reinforces the role of cooperativism as an agent of transformation in the sustainable development of the Amazon. "Being at COP30 is an opportunity to show the world that Amazonian cooperativism is part of the solutions for a more balanced and inclusive future. With this participation, Coopernorte is among the leading voices of Brazilian cooperativism at the largest climate event on the planet, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the Amazon," she states.
