At the Ordinary General Assembly, the cooperative elects a new board of directors and announces the opening of 10 new units for 2022

Coopercitrus -- Cooperativa de Produtores Rurais, recorded record revenue in 2021, reaching R$8 billion, with growth of 35% compared to the R$5.929 billion recorded in 2020. Net equity totaled R$1,5 billion, with increase of 14,5% over the previous year's total. The results were presented during the Ordinary General Assembly, held on the morning of Wednesday, 30th, in Bebedouro, bringing together members and managers.
Revenue in 2021 in the input sector reached 43% compared to 2020. Sales of pesticides increased by 23% and soil revenue grew by 73%. With foliar fertilizers, the improvement was 32%. In the animal health and nutrition sector, the increase was 25%. In terms of seeds, more than 64%.
The CEO of Coopercitrus, Fernando Degobbi, highlights that this growth is the result of a fully integrated service. “My conviction is that there will only be sustainability in agriculture with the use of technology and innovation. And this is only possible when we are close to our members and understand their demands. We know that producers need presence in the field, which is why we continue to invest in assistance from technicians and specialists. Our objective is to understand, be close and find solutions to contribute to the agricultural value journey”.
In 2021 alone, 270 services were provided to cooperative members in the business units in São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás, with the sale of agricultural inputs, machinery and technologies, in the provision of agricultural and precision agriculture services.
New Board
During the Assembly, an election was held for the new board of directors of Coopercitrus. Matheus Marino assumed the presidency of the Administrative Council and José Geraldo da Silveira Mello was elected vice-president.
José Vicente da Silva, former president of the cooperative, joined the advisory board. He thanked the trust during his years leading the cooperative: “Now we move on to a new phase: the consolidation of all our growth. In 12 years, Coopercitrus jumped from a turnover of R$700 million to a projection of R$10 billion in 2022. We reached this turnover thanks to our strategies to preserve our heritage, diversify our product portfolio and intensify the provision of services to the cooperative members. Now, the Cooperative will fly higher and higher.”
The new president of the Board, Matheus Marino, highlights the success of the board succession process. “It’s not just an exchange, we will continue to count on those who made and make history within the cooperative to meet the demands of this new agribusiness. This succession is, above all, continuity, the constant alignment of our strategies to offer our members what they really need.”
The new vice-president of the Board, José Geraldo da Silveira Mello, spoke about combining experience and innovation to continue growing: “Over these 43 years as an employee at Coopercitrus, I have built a relationship of trust and commitment with members and suppliers. By joining forces with Matheus, we form a partnership that focuses on results, preserving our values.”
Expansion plan for 2022
Throughout 2022, the Cooperative will open 10 new business units, between the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Goiás. With investments in the order of R$50 million in input and equipment supply units, in the expansion of the Campo concept Digital and a new feed factory. The forecast is to hire more than 200 specialized professionals.
Sustainable growth
The cooperative published the Sustainability Report in accordance with GRI standards, to present and measure the impacts of its actions on its members and surrounding society.
In its sustainability strategy, the cooperative has intensified its activities within the ESG (environmental, social and governance) concepts. Among the highlights are the actions of the Coopercitrus Credicitrus Foundation, which develops projects in the areas of education, research and the environment.
Last year, Coopercitrus recovered around 200 silted water mines on rural properties, through the Foundation, in addition to planting 35 thousand native tree seedlings on rural properties.
In partnership with the Paula Souza Center, the Big Data for Agribusiness higher education course was launched by FATEC and the Agribusiness Technician course by Etec, providing free and quality professional training for members, children of members and the entire community .
