Coopavel accelerates preparations for the winter edition of the Rural Show

President Dilvo Grolli and general coordinator Rogério Rizzardi brought together the organizing team of the Rural Coopavel Winter Show, over the weekend, to accelerate preparations for the fourth edition scheduled for August 22nd to 24th. “There are 44 days left until the start of the event, so we need to speed up the preparation dynamics and involve our team and partners”, highlights Dilvo Grolli.

Twenty companies in the research area and linked to the agribusiness chain will participate in a technical event aimed at wheat farmers, rural producers interested in investing in wheat and winter crops (oats, triticale, cover crops), children of farmers, technicians, academics and directors of companies linked to agribusiness.

“This is a great opportunity to learn, first-hand, what new companies have in terms of crops for the colder months. Investments in improvements have allowed, over the years, incredible leaps in productivity and quality of materials for crops during this period of the year”, according to Rizzardi.

The average wheat productivity in Brazil is 2,9 kilos. In the West region it reaches 4,2 kilos per hectare. “At the Rural Coopavel Winter Show, however, some of the wheat cultivars that will be presented already reach six thousand kilos per hectare, highlighting the importance of holding this type of event to strengthen the sector”, according to Dilvo.

Brazilian wheat production in 2023 is expected to reach 10 million tons, and 85% of this total, around 8,5 million tons, will be harvested in the southern states, with cultivation of around 3,1 million hectares. “With advances in recent years and the perception of a growing number of rural producers about the benefits of wheat, the crop is proving to be a great income opportunity for the winter months”, highlights Rogério Rizzardi. With this sum of factors, Brazil, instead of being an importer of grain, could become an exporter in a few years.

Visits to the Rural Coopavel Winter Show will be open daily from 8:30 am. Access to the park and parking will be free. For the first time, lunch for those participating in technical visits to the park will be free of charge. Coopavel branches, in 24 municipalities in the West and Southwest of the State, are already organizing themselves to bring caravans of producers to follow the fourth edition of the biggest event on winter crops in the country. One of the novelties of this edition will be the organized presence of women farmers from several municipalities.
