UPL Brazil announced the launch of Constel, a new systemic and translaminar insecticide developed for the strategic management of pests that affect the production potential of more than 15 agricultural crops, including sugarcane, coffee, tomatoes, potatoes, citrus fruits, and apples. The product acts selectively and comprehensively, penetrating plant tissue and protecting the plant from the inside out.

Acting from eggs to adult insects, it provides long-lasting and consistent control. "Constel represents an essential tool for mitigating economic losses in crops and reinforces our commitment to innovation and sustainability in the field," he emphasized. Target pests

In sugarcane fields, Constel is registered against the sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis). In coffee plantations, the target is the leaf miner (Leucoptera coffeella). In tomato crops, it acts against the small borer (Neoleucinodes elegantalis) and tomato moth (Tuta absoluta). In potatoes, it controls the potato moth (Phthorimaea operculella); in citrus, the ferret (Ecdytolopha aurantiana); and in the apple, the oriental fruit moth (Mole Grapholite).

According to Carlos Eduardo Melo, product manager at UPL Brasil, Constel's active ingredients act primarily through ingestion, but also through contact. "The product promotes rapid mortality and prolonged residual activity, remaining active even under adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall," he explained.
