According to previous data released by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) this year, the area occupied by agriculture in the country grew 5% in 11 years, currently reaching 350 million hectares. When we talk specifically about Rio Grande do Sul, this index rises to 6,6%. The increase in cultivable area, combined with the technology available in the sector, is synonymous with greater productivity for the farmer. Also according to the research, internet access in the countryside increased from 75 thousand to 1,4 million connected rural producers (growth of 1790% compared to 2006), as it contributes even more to efficient farming. Examples of this progress are the last two grain harvests in Brazil, which were the largest ever recorded in the country's history.

Aware of the producer's need to seek resources in technology to produce more and in a sustainable way, John Deere confirms its presence at the next edition of Expointer, from August 25th to September 2nd, in Esteio (RS). With the campaign #SóJohnDeereConecta, the company takes its intelligent machines and solutions to the fair, aimed at precision agriculture. "John Deere offers the connection between machinery, technology, people and intelligence. There are four key pieces to transform precision agriculture once and for all into what we call decision agriculture: a reality in which the farmer will have the data in his hands to reach a more assertive decision, in real time, increasing the productivity and profitability of your farm. We will show at the event solutions that are less iron and more intelligence, and that contribute to more sustainable agriculture, in every way", says Rodrigo Bonato , Sales Director at John Deere Brazil.

For Expointer 2018, the company's biggest highlight is the Operation center, a platform recently launched by the company, which manages data online, integrating machine, production and agronomic information to provide better decisions for the producer. The information obtained during the different phases of farming, through JDLink – the brand’s machine and fleet management system – are centralized in the Operations Center and, with this data in hand, the farmer can optimize the operation of the machines, identify possible cost reductions, make the application of inputs more efficient, etc., all this from a distance. "It is an open and democratic tool, suitable not only for large producers, but for all profiles and sizes of farmers, including real gains for family farming, which today represents almost 84% of Brazilian rural establishments, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development", says Bonato.

Also in line with the campaign #SóJohnDeereConecta, and to enable the use of 100% of the benefits of its machines and technologies, John Deere presents in August, for the southern region of the country, the "Rural Connectivity", an initiative launched this year, in partnership with Trópico – a company dedicated to the development, production and distribution of modern telecommunications equipment –, which will bring internet to parts of the country that do not have connectivity, through transmission towers installed on the property of the farmer.

"Only John Deere offers a complete and connected technology ecosystem, the result of our daily investment of US$4 million in research and innovation around the world. With the integration between JDLink, the Operations Center and Rural Connectivity, reality of Brazilian farmers gains new perspectives", guarantees Bonato.

complete solutions

This year, the company presents a stand at Expointer divided according to the phases of farming (soil preparation, planting, cultural treatments and harvesting) so that, in a visual way, the fair's public can perceive the connections between John Deere machines and the Operations Center, demonstrating the benefits and integration between the platform and the brand's other intelligent solutions.

In addition to a complete portfolio dedicated to agribusiness, John Deere will also exhibit the 310L backhoe loader, one of the highlights of the Construction division. "This equipment is extremely versatile, as, in addition to being used for the construction of roads and supporting the development of the farm's infrastructure, it can be used in agricultural production, such as handling materials, transporting and transporting production, etc", explains Roberto Marques, Sales Director of the Construction division at John Deere Brazil.

In addition to this, John Deere will bring after-sales services to Expointer, a distinguishing feature of the company, with trained professionals, carrying out optimization services and preventive maintenance with excellence, as well as the availability of parts and services, in order to ensure that machines deliver their maximum potential and contribute to greater productivity in the field; and the financing options offered by Banco John Deere and the John Deere Consortium, which serve producers of all sizes and types of crops.

And the company's expectations for Expointer 2018 are very positive. In the southern region of the country, the area planted with grains has grown with the success of soybeans and the rotation of rice crops, due to new varieties resistant to excess water and more efficient management using precision agriculture technology.. "There are already 300 thousand hectares of soybeans being planted in Rio Grande do Sul in rotation with rice, with the potential to reach 1 million hectares, which will bring an income of R$3,2 billion to the sector and a promising perspective for the market of machines and technological solutions", concludes Bonato, Sales Director at John Deere Brazil.
