This Thursday (20/10), the National Supply Company (Conab) will carry out two more auction operations, one offering an Equalizer Premium Paid to Rural Producers (Pepro) and the other offering a Premium for Product Outflow (PEP) . The objective is to guarantee minimum prices for cocoa beans produced in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Pará and Rondônia. The details of the operations are described in Notices Nos. 63 and 64. The intention is to support the commercialization of rural producers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, processors and traders of this product.
In the Pepro operation (63), the quantities of product in kg will be 750 thousand in Bahia, 75 thousand in Espírito Santo, 750 thousand in Pará and 50 thousand in Rondônia, totaling 1,63 million. The same quantity of product is also planned for PEP (64).
In the case of PEP, processing industries and traders receive the premium after proving the purchase of the product at the minimum price, currently defined at R$ 12,99/kg, and transport to permitted destinations. In Pepro, the premium is offered to the producer or cooperative that makes the sale for the difference between the reference price and the value of the Equalizer Premium sold, and proves the sale under the conditions set out in the Notice.
The intention is to guarantee the maintenance of product reference prices and comply with the Federal Government's Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM). The action was authorized by the Interministerial Ordinance of the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) No. 4, of 10/10/2022, which defined a volume of resources of up to R$30 million for the disposal of the harvest product 2022/2023, originating in the specified states and destination to any location in Brazil.
On the date of carrying out the operations, participants must be registered on the Commodity Exchange on which they intend to operate and in good standing with the Defaulters Registration and Control System (Sircoi) and the National Rural Producers Registry System (Sican) of Conab , in addition to having a regular registration in the Unified Supplier Registration System (Sicaf), as well as before the Federal Treasury and Social Security, among other requirements set out in the notices.
