The National Supply Company (Conab) will invest a total of R$3,35 million in renewing equipment and improving the structure of public warehouses. The resources were achieved thanks to the work of the state-owned company with the reallocation of its own funds, which made it possible to apply the budget to projects and ensured greater efficiency and control in the storage of government stocks.

Part of the capital will be allocated to the acquisition of more modern transport and weighing equipment. It is planned to purchase 44 electronic platform scales that will be destined for 26 Conab units in 15 states across the country. In addition, 75 new tiltable horizontal forklifts will be purchased, assigned to the Company's 18 regional superintendencies, as well as 50 platform cars that will assist work in 34 of its own warehouses. The regions will also receive new amounts of insecticides and plastic sheets for purging grains, used in the phytosanitary conservation of stocks.

Among the measures adopted are also planned structural reforms in storage units in Paraná, Tocantins, Rio Grande do Norte, Distrito Federal and Bahia. The works range from modernizing the thermometry system in the storage unit located in the municipality of Rio Formoso (TO) to restructuring the lighting system in the warehouse in Brasília.

The actions began at the end of 2017 and the entire renovation process is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Purchases of new products and renovations will benefit 79 Conab warehouses across the country.
