Technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) carry out field research in order to collect data to compose the 2nd Survey of the 2022 Coffee Harvest. In total, nine producing states participate.

The first to start fieldwork was Espírito Santo, last Monday (4). In the other producing states (Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Bahia, Rondônia, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Goiás and Mato Grosso) technicians begin collecting information from this week on climate variables, crop bienniality, phytotechnical analyses, rural credit conditions and market prospects. The research is expected to be completed by the end of April.

With the exception of Paraná, all the states mentioned will carry out the research in person with visits to rural properties, cooperatives and other partner entities. In the case of São Paulo, the second largest producer of Arabica coffee in the country, cooperatives and entities linked to coffee cultivation will be visited, mainly in the regions of Franca, São João da Boa Vista, Espírito Santo do Pinhal, Garça, Marília, Tupã, Pirajú and Jaú . Fieldwork in the state of São Paulo takes place between April 11th and 23rd.

The consolidated data will appear in the bulletin of the 2nd Survey of the 2022 Coffee Harvest, which will be published on May 19th on the Company's website. Currently, coffee production is estimated at 55,7 million bags, an increase of 16,8% compared to 2021, as published by Conab in first survey of the current grain harvest.
