Next Wednesday (17/11), the National Supply Company (Conab) will hold public auctions to purchase around 42,9 thousand tons of corn. The purpose of purchasing the product is to supply Milho Balcão. In addition to cereal, the Company plans to acquire 940,2 thousand units of polypropylene bags.
From the auctions, 26.480 tons of corn will be allocated to the states of Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Roraima. Another 16.400 tons of grain should be delivered to municipalities located in the states of Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The operations will begin after the purchase of polypropylene bags and will take place via the Conab Electronic Trading System (Siscoe).
Rural producers, cooperatives and traders registered with the Commodities Exchange through which they intend to carry out the operation, and registered, on the date of the auction, in the Conab National Registry System for Rural Producers (Sican) can participate in the auctions. in addition to being in good standing in the Unified Supplier Registration System (Sicaf) and other requirements of the notices.
The reinforcement of public stocks of corn sold by Conab will help small animal breeders across the country, especially those located in places further away from large centers and areas of greater production, and who use the product to feed their flocks.
These Milho Balcão supply operations are part of the scope of Provisional Measure No. 1.064/2021, signed by the President of the Republic, which authorized the purchase of up to 200 thousand tons of corn per year for the program. They are also in accordance with Interministerial Ordinance Mapa/ME no. 20/2021.
The first auction, to be held on 16/11, foresees the acquisition of 940,2 thousand bags. The operation will begin at 9am and also takes place via Siscoe. Each unit of product to be purchased must have a minimum weight of 100g, with a dimension of 100cm x 60cm and capacity to hold 60kg of grains.
