An overview of losses in agricultural storage will be outlined during the 15th International Seminar on Agroindustrial Logistics, which takes place this Monday (26), in Piracicaba/SP. The presentation will be made by the Storage Superintendent of the National Supply Company (Conab), Deise Ribeiro Fassio, who will explain the country's perspectives and situation in this area.

According to the superintendent, loss during storage is natural, due to the grains' own metabolism. “What needs to be done is to devise strategies to reduce these losses”, she explains. “This is why it is essential to measure and identify at which stage of the process they occur.”

During the seminar, the superintendent must address issues relating to losses that occur in the logistics of non-perishable products. “Based on knowledge of the entire chain, quantification and identification of where they occur, more efficient measures can be taken to mitigate them”, reinforces Deise.

The event is aimed at agents in the agricultural product logistics sector, researchers and undergraduate and postgraduate students, promoted by the Agroindustrial Logistics Research and Extension Group (ESALQ-LOG), with free entry.
