Conab opens Public Call for purchase of bean and corn seeds in Alagoas

Family farmers interested in selling Creole bean and Creole corn seeds to the National Supply Company (Conab) can now register. The deadline to participate in the Public Call to purchase products is until 12pm on September 05th. Family farming associations and cooperatives can register.

Through the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), Conab will purchase 69.280 kg of seeds, 37.300 kg of creole beans and 31.980 kg of creole corn, for distribution in municipalities in Alagoas until April 2018. The acquisition, requested by the Government of State of Alagoas and the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra), will be carried out by the Regional Superintendence of Conab in Alagoas and will benefit family farmers, quilombolas, indigenous people and agrarian reform settlers.

Proposals will be prioritized by proximity to the delivery municipality, aiming to increase seed adaptation, encourage local production and reduce transport costs. Agrarian reform settlers, women and quilombolas will also have priority. To participate, you must send to Conab in Alagoas an envelope with the documents required in the notice: proposal for participation according to the pre-determined model, proof of registration in the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ), copy of the Declaration of Aptitude for Pronaf (DAP) Legal, among others.

R$670 will be invested to acquire the seeds. The resources were transferred by the Ministry of Social Development (MDS) and the sales limit per family farmer (DAP individual) is R$ 16 thousand per year.
