The National Supply Company (Conab), linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), is carrying out the fifth stage of 2016 inspection of public stocks this week. Eleven technicians from the state-owned company will inspect 57 public and private warehouses in Goiás, Mato Grosso, Tocantins and the Federal District.
According to the Company's Inventory Inspection Superintendency, by July 15th, the expectation is to inspect 790.825 tons of rice, corn, beans, wheat, cassava flour and starch. Inspectors will observe, among other aspects, the storage conditions, conservation and quantity of grains stored.
In the previous stages, more than 2 million tons of products were inspected in 371 warehouses located in 23 Brazilian states, with the participation of 88 Conab technicians. The inspections identified around 2.800 tons of losses, 31.777 tons of deviations, 1.338 kg out of type and declassification of 1.120 kg of coffee.
In the case of losses, storage companies will have to compensate Conab. For identified deviations, the irregularity is reported to the Public Ministry and the Federal Police. Furthermore, the storage company is unable to operate with the state-owned company for two years and must return the initial stock in cash or product.
The fifth inspection stage of 2016 began this Monday (4).
