According to the Company's Inventory Inspection Superintendence, the Company's expectation for this third stage is to inspect 883,662 thousand tons of grains including rice, corn, beans, coffee, wheat, flour and cassava starch. Inspectors will observe, among other aspects, the storage and conservation conditions and the quantity of grains stored. Another six rounds are scheduled until the end of the year.
In the first two inspection stages of 2016, 1.993 million tons of products were inspected in 163 warehouses located in 11 states across the country. The inspections identified around 1,6 tons of losses, 4.468 tons of deviations, 1.307 tons of out-of-type product and the declassification of 660 kg of coffee and 30,6 tons of beans.
In the case of losses, storage companies will have to compensate the Company. In the case of loss of quality of coffee and beans, an investigation will be opened to determine the reasons for the disqualification of the products. When any deviation is identified, the irregularity is reported to the Public Ministry and the Federal Police. Furthermore, the storage company is unable to operate with the Company for two years and must return the initial stock in cash or product.
