This Friday (26), the National Supply Company (Conab) is holding another public auction with the aim of guaranteeing the supply of corn to breeders registered in the Over-the-Counter Sales Program (ProVB). This time the forecast is for the acquisition of an additional 7.050 tons of bagged corn grains from the 2021/2022 harvest.

The auction will start at 9 am (Brasília time) and the purchased product must be delivered to municipalities located in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Piauí and Sergipe.

Rural producers, cooperatives and traders interested in participating must be in good standing in the Unified Supplier Registration System (Sicaf) and in the Informative Register of Unpaid Credits of the Federal Public Sector (CADIN), among other requirements contained in the notice.

ProVB - The Over-the-Counter Sales Program aims to provide small rural farmers with access to stocks of agricultural products managed by Conab, through direct sales at prices compatible with those on the local wholesale market. Through it, conditions of equality and opportunities are established, as large buyers are assisted by public auctions held through Commodity Exchanges, which are characterized by larger purchase volumes and make the participation of small breeders unfeasible.
