The National Supply Company (Conab) is once again in the field to carry out an objective survey of soybean crops, data used in the Brazilian grain harvest figures. This Thursday (23/02), data collection visits begin in the northeast of Goiás. This is the fourth time that Conab carries out the oilseed Croptour.
The activity consists of visiting crops and statistical analysis of samples to collect information on the factors that determine crop productivity: row spacing, number of plants per row, number of grains per plant, among others.
In the 2022/2023 harvest, 11 states will be covered, with an estimate of sampling around 1.500 crops. The trips were divided into 23 itineraries, lasting one week each. Field work is carried out in partnership with several companies. With work starting on January 16, 12 itineraries have already been completed.
All trips are expected to be completed by March 18th. In addition to the northeast of Goiás, the Company's technicians will also pass through the producing region of eastern Goiás in the week of February 27th, in the west of Bahia, starting on March 6th, and in the northwest of Minas Gerais, the route is scheduled for 13 next month.
In the 5th Survey of the 2022/2023 Grain Harvest, released by Conab on February 8, grain production in the country was forecast at around 310,6 million tons. In addition to the monthly harvest bulletins produced by Conab, updated information on Brazilian crops can also be accessed in the Crop Progress study, available on the Company's website.
