Company technicians will inspect 56 public and private warehouses in the states of Bahia, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás and the Federal District. Inspectors will also register new warehouses and audit, by sampling, private rice stocks reported by producers in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the Company's Inventory Inspection Superintendency, by March 24th the expectation is to inspect around 133 thousand tons of rice, coffee, corn, beans, wheat, flour and cassava starch. Inspectors will observe, among other aspects, the storage and conservation conditions and the quantity of grains stored.

In the previous stage, 45 warehouses located in Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and São Paulo were inspected. In the same period, the first special inspection of 2017 was carried out in Ceará, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rio Grande do Sul and the Federal District, with visits to 17 warehouses. In the two inspections, Conab technicians inspected 748 thousand tons of products and identified around 222 tons of coffee and corn losses.

In the case of losses, storage companies will have to compensate the Company. For identified deviations, the irregularity is reported to the Public Ministry and the Federal Police. Furthermore, the storage company is unable to operate with the Company for two years and must return the initial stock in cash or product.
