The meeting was officially opened this Wednesday (23/8), at the Planalto buffet, in Londrina
The National Supply Company (Conab) released a study on the harvest for the period from August 1st to 21st. Dry weather prevailed in the central region of the country, which favored the maturation and harvest of second-crop crops.
More significant volumes of rain were observed in the North, East Coast and South of the country, which benefited part of the bean and third-crop corn crops in the Sealba region (Sergipe, Alagoas and Bahia) and the winter crops in most of the regions. areas of the South region.
Despite low soil moisture and high temperatures in the central region, in general, favorable conditions for the completion of second harvest crops remained. On the other hand, irregular rains in part of Bahia and Sergipe worsened water restrictions in third-crop crops in crops further away from the coast.
In Rio Grande do Sul, the rains that occurred from the second week onwards improved the conditions of wheat crops, despite the reduction in water storage in the soil at the beginning of the month.
The evolution of the vegetation index (IV) of the main producing states indicates the good development of wheat crops. In practically all producing regions, the IV response was above or close to the previous harvest and the historical average, maintaining good productivity expectations.
