Fundecitrus and Embrapa Agricultura Digital are working on a project to automatically count the fruits present on orange trees through computational intelligence, eContaFruto.

Started in 2019, the research is developing cutting-edge technology for identifying and counting green fruits based on images of trees in the field, taken before felling. The project is in the methodology refinement phase, using data collected in 2021, and validation will be carried out based on the next harvest, carried out in 2022.

The partnership seeks, in the long term, to contribute to obtaining data for the Fundecitrus Harvest Estimation Survey (PES).
