Mapa and Federal Revenue seize 56 tons of agricultural pesticides
The operation targeted illegally imported pesticides that would be distributed in the Central-West region
The management of production units assists in planning, recording and analyzing data, so that the best strategies and decisions are made, positively impacting productivity and profitability. This is already a path of no return and software and other innovations are essential to take a step forward in operations. This was exactly what was found a few years ago by the company Terra Santa Agro, from Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso, which saw the need to improve the management of activities on its farms, leaving the “old” Excel spreadsheets and migrating to a new one. technological system to be more assertive in actions inside and outside the property.
The company, which currently cultivates more than 140 thousand hectares for soybeans, corn and cotton, since 2004, uses software and technologies from GAtec – Gestão Agroindustrial. Among the solutions contracted are: multiculture suites, planning, agricultural controls, cotton processing and Commerce. According to the farm's information technology and innovation manager, Ricieri Casadey, the adoption of technological tools was fundamental to improving day-to-day actions. “GAtec’s solution guarantees effective control of the entire agricultural operation, helping us to optimize processes, analyze data and support decision-making.”
The company's systems are part of the group's daily life, and all controls are carried out in an integrated manner with the company's ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning or integrated management system). Thus, they have ease in many processes, ensuring that a huge volume of products are produced and sold on a single platform. “We certainly gained control over activities, greater agility with production information, shipping, entry control and billing. The main point is the systematization of information collection and unification on a single platform, which was previously passed on in spreadsheets and e-mail”, highlights Casadey.
Before the implementation of GAtec's management technologies, the group was expanding rapidly, however, they still used Excel spreadsheets and internally developed systems that were often not as accurate with the information, which made decision-making take longer. Given this, they saw that they would need a modern system that could keep up with this growth. “It was then necessary to restructure their technology. However, we did not yet have anything in the company that would meet the demand. This is where the Multiculturas suite appeared at GAtec. Thanks to their pioneering spirit, who believed in the quality of our systems, we developed this solution that is now consolidated in the market”, says the director of commodities trading at GAtec, Leonardo Ramos.
The project was so successful that the group agreed at the time to be the pilot of the then new Multiculturas suite, which at the time only had agricultural controls. Enthusiastic about the results obtained with the first tool, they asked the company to develop the cotton processing module, a crop also focused on farms and which has a high investment value. “GAtec GIN was built to meet your needs in transforming cotton into seed and lint, which is the final salable product”, highlights Ramos.
After the first two systems developed especially for Terra Santa Agro, it was time to adopt GAtec's Commerce module, which was responsible for controlling all operations of the company's agricultural commodities marketing team. Thus, it completed the cycle of solutions that goes from farming to selling its products to the end customer.
For the commodity trading director, the partnership model adopted between GAtec and Terra Santa is a common practice and has been used with other clients who have an investment profile. Thanks to the pioneering spirit of these customers, the company has grown in the development and improvement of its solutions. “The group is a very positive reference in the market, always working with excellence in everything they do. This pioneering spirit was very positive for improvements in our systems, bringing the best market practices into it”, concludes Ramos.
