Coffee research conference will be from October 24th to 27th

The Brazilian Coffee Research Congress, in its 47th edition, takes place from October 24th to 27th, in the halls and auditorium of the Hotel Glória, in Caxambú. The event aims to bring together teams of technicians linked to research and the dissemination of technologies to discuss and disseminate the innovations obtained.

The conference program includes the presentation of research works by technicians from different institutions and from different regions of the country. The deadline for receiving works is September 21/2023, with around 300 works expected, with results from studies on the different sectors of coffee culture. Three seminars will also be held, debating topics such as new varieties of coffee trees, irrigation in coffee plantations and the use of herbicides in coffee crops.

At the opening of the event, a debate will be promoted on the coffee situation, there will be the launch of two new coffee cultivars and, in addition, tributes will be given, of coffee merit, to 16 personalities and technicians who work in coffee farming and to the coffee research collaborator. On the last day of the event, a field day will be held with demonstration of results at the Varginha Experimental Farm.

The Congress is promoted by the Procafé Foundation, the Café Research Consortium, coordinated by Embrapa Café, the State Secretariat of Agriculture of Minas Gerais, the University of Uberaba (Uniube) and the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA).
